Privacy Policy

How SwiftPass collects, uses and protects your personal data — including what happens when you talk to Oba or contact support.
1. Who we are
SwiftPass is a ticketing and venue-booking platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where applicable, other data-protection laws that apply to you.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, phone number, password credentials and profile details.
- Purchase data: orders, tickets, ticket categories, amounts paid, refunds and payment references.
- Transaction data: the payment channel and provider reference returned by our payment partner. We never store your full card details.
- Event and venue data: event details, attendee information you supply, venue listings, availability and booking enquiries.
- Content you create: Oba conversations, saved event plans, generated creative concepts, uploads you share and support messages.
- Technical data: device and browser details, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and pages visited.
3. Why we use your data
- To issue tickets, process payments, manage refunds and pay organisers and venues.
- To run your account, dashboards, notifications and check-in scanning.
- To provide Oba, including saving conversation history and event plans so you can return to them.
- To prevent fraud, verify payouts and keep the platform secure.
- To send service messages — ticket confirmations, payment updates, reminders and support replies.
- To improve the platform through aggregated, de-identified usage analysis.
4. Legal bases
We rely on performance of a contract to deliver tickets, bookings and payouts; on our legitimate interests to secure and improve the platform and prevent fraud; on your consent for optional marketing and non-essential cookies; and on legal obligation for tax, accounting and regulatory records.
5. Who we share data with
- Organisers and venue owners receive the details needed to run your booking, such as attendee names and contact details you supplied.
- Paystack, our payment partner, processes payments and settlements.
- Email and messaging providers deliver ticket confirmations, notifications and support replies.
- Professional advisers, auditors and authorities where required by law.
- We never sell your personal data.
6. AI assistant (Oba)
When you chat with Oba, your messages, any files you upload and the resulting responses are processed by our AI service providers and stored so the conversation can continue. Oba may read public SwiftPass listing data and, with your permission and only for your own account, your own orders, tickets and bookings.
Do not share sensitive personal data — such as card numbers, passwords, health information or government IDs — in Oba chat. Support staff access conversations only when you ask for human help and a support ticket is created.
7. Support tickets
If you request human support, we create a support ticket containing your name, contact details, issue description, related order or event reference, priority, and a summary of the conversation. Authorised support staff can see this to resolve your issue.
8. How long we keep data
- Account and transaction records: for as long as your account is active and afterwards as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Oba conversations and saved plans: until you delete them or your account is closed.
- Support tickets: up to 24 months after resolution for service quality and dispute handling.
- Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent.
9. Your rights
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data and update your profile at any time.
- Delete your account and the content associated with it, subject to records we must retain by law.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for marketing.
- Request a portable copy of the data you gave us.
10. Security
We protect data with encrypted connections, access controls, scoped permissions and server-side validation of every payment and check-in action. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme and country preference, and secure checkout. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used where permitted and can be managed through the consent banner.
12. Contact
To exercise any of your rights, or to ask a privacy question, contact us through the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
This policy is reviewed regularly. Material changes will be announced on the platform before they take effect.
